Book Tag: 7 Deadly Sins of Reading

Hey guys! How's everyone doing? I'm...tired. Won't lie. But I'm here anyways. It's book tag Thursday, and I chose the 7 Deadly Sins of Reading tag. It sounds really cool so...

Let's get into it!

1) Greed: What's your most expensive book and most inexpensive book?

Do dictionaries count? Because those are certainly expensive and I own quite a few... I'm so boring. I'm sorry, but translators gotta translate, you know? My most inexpensive ones are probably the 3 House of Night books by P.C. Cast I own. I paid $50 (Argentine pesos) for each one, which is like $3.50 us dollars. 

2) Wrath: What author do you have a love/hate relationship with?

Hmm, I think I'll go with R.S Grey. As I've said in a previous post, I absolutely adored Scoring Wilder, but then I was left quite unimpressed with The Summer Games. I haven't given up on her yet, though. Do you have any good recommendations? 

3) Gluttony: What book have you deliciously devoured over and over again, with no remorse whatsoever?

I think I have mentioned this, but I'm not a re-reader. I prefer reading new books. But if I had to, I would re-read The Hunger Games. In fact, I'm planning on doing so. I really enjoyed those books, so why not?

4) Sloth: What book have you neglected reading due to laziness?

Which one haven't I is the better question. I'm always lazy when it's time to pick a book up. I end up enjoying them... most of the time. So, I don't know why it's so hard for me. I have been postponing Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban for quite a while now. Don't ask why, because I don't even know.

5) Pride: What book do you most talk about to sound like an intellectual reader?

Well, any classic, really. Or any from my lit class at university. The most complicated book I've read is Rayuela by Julio Cortázar. His books are compulsory reads in my country. His novels and short stories demand a deep analysis. Whenever you read one, you have to pause every 5 minutes to look a term or a reference up. So, if you want to feel really stupid every 5 lines, read that book. You get bragging rights after you finish it ;)

6) Lust: What attributes do you find most attractive in male or females characters?

Sense of humor. Well, that was easy. For love interests, I like it when they're dark and moody but with a good hidden heart. #basic. And for best friends, I like like honesty. And, again a good sense of humor.

7) Envy: What books would you most like to receive as a gift?

I'd like to get the new illustrated Harry Potter books. All of them, when they get released. They are just SO PRETTY. But, there are so many other books I want too! I can't pick.

Book Tag #2: Remote Control

Hey, what's up? I'm tired and in a bad mood, but what can you do. While I was browsing around, I found a book tag that sounded fun. I watch so much Netflix that the TV's remote control has become an extension to my arm. So, I though this tag would be appropriate.

Let's dive into it!

CHANGE THE CHANNEL

Book you had to put down because you didn't like it.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I know it's a sacrilege, okay? But hear me out. I didn't hate or dislike this book. It was just a bit dense in my opinion and I wasn't in the right mood, so I decided to set it aside until I was. The thing is, this was a year ago and I still haven't picked it up... I'll try to finish it this year but no promises.

TURN THE VOLUME UP

Book you talk about and recommend to anyone.

Yes, this is yet another post in which I talk about SJM's books. I've literally recommended this series to all my friends. Nobody listened, though. Read some Sarah J Maas, please. You'll be happy, I'll be happy, we'll all be happy together. 

TURN THE VOLUME DOWN

Book you are ashamed you've read and don't want anyone to find out. 

To be honest, I'm not ashamed of any books I've read. I've had my fair share of dirty books and there's nothing wrong with that, so don't be ashamed. I have read too many fanfics, though,  and some of them were pretty bad ones. I think that's probably the most embarrassing thing I've read.

CLOSED CAPTION

Book in another language you've read with the help of a dictionary.

This one's tricky, cause English is my second language and I never look up words in the dictionary. I'm going to go with Rayuela by Julio Cortázar. This is a very complicated book to read, not only for the constant references to stuff I don't know, but also because it has some parts in french (which I can barely understand.) I did have to look up some of those in a dictionary.

Short book you always reread.

Oh man, I don't have an answer for this one. I'm not a re-reader, sorry. I've only done it with two book in my life: The Survival Kit by Donna Freitas and The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Eulberg.

SETTINGS

How often do you organize your bookshelves?

That's easy, never. I don't have an organized bookshelf; I simply keep my series together, and the rest of the books are in random order. I hope that when I get a bigger one, I will start to have system... but that's a big "if". 

MUTE

Book that was recommended to you and left you speechless.

I wasn't recommended this book by a person, well technically yes, but not by a person I know. I just kept hearing great things about it and gave it a go. It was fantastic! Such a heart-warming novel. The funny thing, is that after I finished it one of my friends came to me all excited and told me "YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK", and I was like: Sorry, hun. Been there done that. 

HOME

Series in which you like the first book more than the others.

Don't get me wrong, I loved all 3 of them but I loved Anna and the French Kiss more. There's something about the original squad that's just so 💗💗💗. I just enjoyed it so much!
